What's this game about? (gauge, time period, locos and rollingstock, firing, boiler explosions)
Century of Steam is focused on creating a 3ft American narrow gauge railroad sim with historical equipment built between 1869 and 1969. We intend to provide an immersive experience that anyone can enjoy.
How and when will the game be released?
The game will be released on Steam, and we do not have an estimated release date yet. We held a playable demo at the 2023 National Narrow Gauge Convention that can be seen in our September 2023 DevLog. This demo will not be available for sale or be distributed.
Is multiplayer supported? Singleplayer?
Single and Multiplayer will be supported, though both will require an internet connection to authenticate via Steam's servers.
What game engine does the game run on?
The game is built using Unreal Engine 5.
What are the minimum system requirements? Can I use my console to play?
We do not have a concrete set of minimum or recommended system requirements at this time. We do not intend to support consoles, though VR and controller support may be available in future.
Can I build my own track?
Realtime track and railroad infrastructure building is a core feature of the game.
Will (X) locomotive be in the game?
We have a comprehensive list of locomotives & rolling stock planned for the game, which is not public at this time.
How much will the game cost?
We do not have a public pricing model available at this time.
Can I help test the game?
We are not seeking additional testers at this time.
